Meeting of June 26, 2001

The meeting was called to order by the president, Art Alaniz, at 8:35 pm at the home of Art Alaniz’s Unit # 140.

Business was discussed as Follows (See attached agenda):

  1. Pre-Business Meeting Discussion
    1. US Postal Service

i. Multiple units complaining of not getting their mail delivered correctly

ii. Appears to be a problem when the regular carrier is out.

iii. POA: Talk to the main carrier and express the association’s concern.

    1. Leo Rodriguez from State Farm Insurance Company

i. Discussion on type of policy we currently have.

ii. Discussion on Exterior coverage vs. Interior coverage

iii. The association requested a BID from Leo Rodriguez for exterior coverage. This will include a roof inspection from a field underwriter.

iv. Leo Rodriguez also offered to provide interior coverage bids by individual appointments.

v. Leo Rodriguez left brochures and business cards for each unit represented.

  1. Introduction of Ted Miller
    1. Q & A time
    2. The associations expectations were expressed – collections, maintenance issues and bookkeeping.
    3. Collections

i. Ted Miller has already sent three 10-day demand certified letter to those Class A members in arrears on June 20. See attached for example.

    1. Discussed the need to hire an attorney. Ted Miller provided information

Regarding the attorney he currently uses, Gary Hendrickson, for other associations that he represents.

    1. The association also expressed top concerns regarding the care of the common areas – sprinkler system, pool, landscaping.

3. Adjournment

    1. The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 pm. so that a board meeting could be conducted.
